Born a Believer

Born a Believer is Darius Norowzian’s debut documentary, following five former offenders whose lives have been shaped by Carney’s Community, a charity-run boxing gym in London. Through their experiences, the film explores how trust, discipline and sustained personal support can offer a route away from gangs and reoffending.

The documentary is rooted in the participants’ own voices and the everyday life of the gym. It looks beyond easy ideas of rehabilitation to show change as a difficult, continuing process built through relationships and responsibility.
