Darius Norowzian — Film Director & Producer

Darius Norowzian is a British director of Iranian and Polish heritage, whose work spans film, documentary and advertising. Ex RSA Films and Blink, he developed a practice rooted in observation and performance that continues to define his approach today.

His work is a blend of documentary and dramatic technique that prioritises natural behaviour and intimacy. His approach pulls his work toward social realism, with a focus on everyday reality and understated storytelling. His Gold Shark Award-winning short film No Dog marked the start of that direction, exploring character through restraint and environment rather than exposition.
That same instinct now shapes his commercial work, elevating campaigns for Apple, Hilton and the BBC with the same grounded authenticity and observation by turning brand briefs into emotionally direct, performance-led films rather than conventional advertising. That approach is gaining wider recognition, with recent selections for the prestigious Smiley Awards and the Oscar-affiliated HollyShorts Film Festival: Street League – Own Your Future was a Smiley Awards 2025 finalist, and Fox, his most recent short, was selected for HollyShorts.
